Step away
In human conversation the direction of travel can go wrong. There are lots of reasons why conversations can break down. There could be a misunderstanding, someone could break the rules of cooperation or the conversation’s no longer creating value for anyone. None of the participants will get to where they want to go and the best thing for everyone is to step away.
Sometimes the machine isn’t going to give you the answer. Step away from the computer in that scenario.
